About PlayBolt

PlayBolt collects browser games that are worth playing and makes them load as fast as possible. There is no launcher, no sign-up wall, no newsletter pop-up between you and the first move. Open a game page, press play, close the tab when you are done.

How the site works

Every game runs in an embedded player on its own page. Games that support saved progress keep it in your browser's local storage — nothing is sent to a server, and clearing your browser data clears your scores. The rest of the site is static: a game catalogue, category pages, and the pages you are reading now.

PlayBolt is supported by advertising. Ads are placed around the games, never inside them, and never as a pop-up that blocks play. See the privacy policy for details on advertising cookies and how to opt out of personalised ads.

Game credits & licenses

Many of the games here are open-source projects built by other people. Their licenses require attribution, and we are glad to give it. Each game page links to the original repository. Original PlayBolt games are marked as such and are built in-house.

License texts are included with each game's files. Where a copyleft license applies (for example GPL-3.0), the corresponding source code is available at the linked repository. We do not claim ownership of third-party games.

Editorial approach

Games are added because they are fun to play in a browser, not because of search volume. Descriptions and how-to-play guides are written for this site. If a game stops working or a license changes, it is removed.

Tell us which game and which browser you are using via the contact page. Broken embeds usually get fixed or pulled within a few days.
