Merge Drop is a one-thumb stacking game. A fruit hangs above an open jar: slide it left or right, let go, and it falls. When two fruits of the same size touch, they fuse into the next size up and the jar breathes for another second.
Eleven sizes run from a cherry to a mango, and every merge pushes something else upward. The skill is not aiming, it is deciding where to spend space: keep the small pieces against the outside walls, feed the big ones into a corner, and never split a matching pair across two columns.
Merges that cascade, one fusion landing straight into another, multiply the score up to double. The run ends when the pile rests above the dashed line for a second and a half. The best score is stored on the device, so there is no login and nothing to sign up for.
How to play Merge Drop
- Move the pointer, or use the arrow keys, to line the fruit up above the jar.
- Click, tap or press space to release it. It falls straight down and settles where it lands.
- Two fruits of the same size merge on contact into the next size up and award points.
- The run ends when fruit rests above the dashed line for 1.5 seconds.
Tips & strategy
Space is the only thing that runs out. Merge early, not late.
- Drop the same sizes next to each other on purpose. A merge in the middle of the jar shoves both neighbours sideways, which usually opens a hole you did not plan for.
- Keep the smallest fruits against the outside walls. They are the only pieces you can drop onto a tall pile without breaking it.
- A merge that creates its own next match is a cascade, and cascades pay double. Build the pile so the new fruit lands next to a twin.
- When the pile is near the line, aim at a pair that is already touching instead of adding a new fruit. A new fruit costs height; a merge does not.
- The jar is 620 units wide, so two mangoes take 496 of it. Once mangoes exist only one column can hold a pair, and it has to be the middle one.
- Finishing a run with a mango is worth more than a high score. That single merge pays 450 before any multiplier.
