Inkfall is an ink-wash survival arena rendered like a living sumi-e painting. You are a single vermillion brushstroke on rice paper, and the page is flooding with ink. Blots, splatters and brutes crawl out of the wash and hunt you down while your brush fires ink bolts on its own — you only move, dash and choose.
Every cleared blot leaves motes of ink. Gather enough and the brush gains a stroke: pick one of three upgrades such as Swifter Brush, Split Stream or Heavy Ink, then keep going. Runs last five to ten minutes, and each one builds a different weapon out of the same simple parts.
There is no finish line. The flood gets faster, brutes join at two minutes, and the only question is how long one brush can hold the paper dry. Your best score and longest survival are remembered between runs.
How to play Inkfall
- Move with WASD or the arrow keys, or drag anywhere on the left half of the screen on touch.
- Ink bolts fire automatically at the nearest blot — you aim by moving.
- Press Space, or the DASH button, to slide through the wash. The dash trail damages everything it touches.
- Collect ink motes to level up, then pick one of three strokes to shape your build.
Tips & strategy
Inkfall looks like a shooter, but it is really a movement game. Standing still is the only losing move — every upgrade is an excuse to keep circling.
- Keep moving in wide circles. Bolts aim themselves, so your job is to never let the wash catch up to you.
- Save your dash for emergencies, not for travel. The cooldown is your only escape from a surrounded position.
- Dash through a cluster instead of around it — the ink trail deals real damage and briefly makes you untouchable.
- Early on, favour movement and gathering upgrades. Raw damage comes later, but you can always outrun a slow blot.
- Brutes are slow and hit hard. Kite them in loops and let the auto-fire whittle them down from a distance.
- When the screen gets crowded, pick one direction and commit. Hesitating in the middle of a crowd is what ends runs.
