City Dash is a side-scrolling endless runner. Your character sprints automatically, and you control two things: when to jump and when to slide. Crates and barriers arrive from the right, and the city scrolls faster as your score climbs.
The double jump is the key mechanic. A single jump clears a crate; a second jump in mid-air extends the arc and lets you correct a mistimed first jump. Barriers require a slide instead — jumping into one is just as fatal as running into a crate.
Coins add a risk-reward layer: they are often placed above obstacles or in the middle of a jump arc, so collecting them means committing to a line. Score is distance plus coins, and the best run is stored locally.
How to play City Dash
- Press Space, the up arrow, or tap to jump. Press again in mid-air for a double jump.
- Press the down arrow or swipe down to slide under overhead barriers.
- Collect coins for bonus points.
- One collision ends the run; speed increases with distance.
Tips & strategy
City Dash is about reading the next obstacle early. The runner is fast, but the pattern is always visible before it arrives.
- Jump early rather than late. The double jump exists to fix a mistimed first jump, not to replace it.
- Save the second jump for corrections; using both immediately leaves you helpless if the obstacle is wider than expected.
- Slide lasts about half a second. Start it just before the barrier, not a screen away.
- Collect coins only when the line is safe. A coin is worth far less than the run.
- Watch the gap between obstacles, not the obstacle itself; the gap tells you whether to jump or slide next.
- At high speed, prioritize survival over coins. The score multiplier from distance grows faster than coin value.
